Itinerary - Cuzco Millennium (6 days / 5 nights)

Daily departures

 

Day 1: (Lima, Arequipa, Puno or Tambopata) .... / Cuzco

  • Upon arrival to Cuzco City, reception and transfer to your hotel.

  • You have the morning free to get acclimatized to the altitude.

  • In the afternoon, city tour in the Historical Centre of Cuzco and nearby monuments and surroundings: Plaza de Armas (Main Square), Cathedral, Koricancha or Templo del Sol (Sun’s Temple), after go to Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuaman, Kencco, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay.

  • Return to the selected hotel

  • Lodging in Cuzco

 

Day 2: Cuzco / Sacred Valley of the Incas / Cuzco (B-L)

  • Breakfast

  • Morning departure for a drive through the fertile countryside of the Urubamba Valley (Sacred Valley of the Incas) to the colonial village of Pisac. During your visit to the bustling marketplace you will have the opportunity to bargain with the natives for many different types of Peruvian handicrafts and jewelry. Then visit to Ccoya, Lamay, Calca and Urubamba.

  • Lunch at Tunupa restaurant

  • Continue to the Ollantaytambo archaeological complex, the Incas built it as a fort that included a temple, agricultural terraces, and an urban area. There are two distinct sectors: The religious and worship zone, and the residential area. Ollantaytambo was an important administrative center with probable military functions if one considers the walls and towers. There are also traces of ancient roads and aqueducts. The town of Ollantaytambo is called a "Living Inca Town" since the inhabitants maintain very old practices and customs.

  • Return to Cuzco via Chinchero

  • Arrival to Cuzco and transfer to your selected hotel

  • Lodging in Cuzco.

 

Day 3: Cuzco / Machu Picchu / Cuzco (B-L)

  • Breakfast.

  • Transfer to the train station for boarding the train to Machu Picchu Town (Aguas Calientes)

  • Upon arrival to Machu Picchu Pueblo Station, transfer in minibuses that will climb you up to Machu Picchu Inca City. Guided tour.

  • At scheduled time, return down to Machu Picchu Town

  • Lunch at local restaurant

  • Transfer to the train station for your trip back to Cuzco City.

  • Upon arrival to Cuzco, transfer to your selected hotel.

  • Lodging in Cuzco.

 

Day 4: Cuzco / Maras and Moray / Cuzco (B)

  • Breakfast

  • 08:30 am. Excursion to Maras and Moray
    Maras is the main attraction, apart from its church, that dates from the colonial period, are the salt mines located near the town which captivate sightseers and, in particular, photographers.

    Moray is famous for its embedded amphitheater, formed by four circular terraces which seem to disappear into the interior of the puna, like an artificial crater.

  • Return to Cuzco city and tranfer to your selected hotel.

  • Free Time to enjoy Cuzco City.

  • Lodging in Cuzco

 

Day 5: Cuzco / Corridor Manco Capac / Cuzco (B)

  • Breakfast.

  • Excursion to south of Cuzco city, visiting Piquillacta archaeological place.

  • Continue to visit to Andahuaylillas and San Pedro de Andahuaylillas Chapel, denominated the "Capilla Sixtina del Peru" (Sistine Chapel of Peru).

  • Visit to Oropesa Town, famous for its bakeries.

  • Return to Cuzco city and tranfer to your selected hotel

  • Free Time to enjoy Cuzco City

  • Lodging in Cuzco

 

Day 6: Cuzco / .... (Lima, Arequipa, Puno or Tambopata) (B)
