Our eight comfortable cottages have been designed and built according to the local architecture to conserve nature's majestic environment around us, all of them have a terrace to enjoy a panoramic view of the special beauty of the area.

To integrate ecotouristic, vivencial and sensorial experiences in a 4 day - 3 nights program including full scale adventures and sustainable activities in our primary forest, at the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve and surrounding communities.

Itinerary - Pacaya Samiria (5 Days / 4 Nights)

Daily departures from Iquitos or Lima.


Day 1: ... (Lima) / Iquitos / Lodge (L-D)

  • We begin our Peruvian jungle adventure at the Iquitos City Airport.

  • From there we will journey 60 miles to the town of Nauta, the first town ship founded by the Spanish at the Marañón River. The trip to Nauta takes about an hour and a half, and a visit to the Sapi Sapi. Lagoon (water mirror)

  • Navigation on the Marañón River.

  • Visit to the Fundo Casual, a tropical forest run by local residents, where we will see different species of local fauna

  • Arrival to Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge.

  • Greeting by a member of the Kukama Kukamiria ethnic group who will conduct a ritual to prepare us to get the energy and strength of nature.

  • Accommodation in our bungalows.

  • Assignment of sustainable tasks to be completed during the stay.

  • Nightly conversation on myths and legends of the Amazon.

  • Visit to our TSETSU mirador.

  • Dinner and overnight at Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge.


Day 2: Lodge / Pacaya Samiria National Reserve / Lodge (B-L-D)

  • Breakfast.

  • Interpretative and adventure treks through the primary forest of our EcoLodge following the route of the primates.

  • Lunch.

  • Departure to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, Nauta Caño area. GUARANTEED watching of pink and grey dolphins.

  • After lunch we will go to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve to an area called “Nauta Caño”. During our excursion we will search for pink and gray dolphins near the b |gorge of the same name. We will also be immersed in the wide variety of flora and fauna the reserve offers.The first thing that will call your attention is how the river water perfectly reflects the sky, clouds, vegetation and large trees along the river banks. Visitors will have the sensation of sailing between endless mirrors, which is why Pacaya Samiria is also known as “the forest of mirrors”.

  • We will also go for a walk through the flooded forests, where we will try to see some primates and sloths. During the journey we can also observe a variety of birds and the traditional Amazonian subsistence fishing practice

  • Return to lodge

  • Dinner and overnight at Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge.


Day 3: Lodge / Pacaya Samiria National Reserve / Lodge (B-L-D)

  • Breakfast.

  • Visit to the community of San Jorge to interact with its members and understand their way of life and ancestral customs.

  • Visit to the Center for Kukama Women Crafts (Pua Kamatawara), a project developed by Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge.

  • Execution of the sustainable tasks assigned on day 1.

  • Lunch.

  • Riverboat trip on the Marañón river either to the Cocha Shiriyacu or down the river. (according to the season and conditions suitable for fishing activities)

  • Artisanal fishing, using two sustainable fishing techniques (rod and trap) used by the coastal men just for subsistence purposes.

  • Return to lodge

  • Dinner and overnight at Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge.


Day 4: Pacaya Samiria National Reserve / Lodge (B-L-D)

  • Review of the fishing traps left the previous day.

  • Amazonian vivencial breakfast using the fish we caught.

  • Birdwatching activities on the river banks and the “restingas” (flooded forests)

  • Lunch.

  • Departure to our camping areas within the 130 hectares of our primary forest. Execution of the sustainable tasks assigned on day 1.

  • Outdoor activities: Survival and orientation techniques in the forest.

  • Night excursion through the forest to watch nightly mammals and listen to the sounds of the jungle at its purest.

  • Overnight in our camping areas.


Day 5: Lodge / Iquitos / ... (Lima) (B-L)

  • Return to EcoLodge.

  • Breakfast at the EcoLodge

  • Delivery of the Certificate of Sustainable Tasks completion.

  • Lunch, free time for personal care and preparation for the return trip to Iqutos.

  • Transfer to the airport or city of Iquitos.


-The last day includes lunch, depending on the departure flight time. If there is no time for lunch before the flight, there will be no discount or reimbursement.
-This program can vary due to weather conditions and Low/high- water season. Our guides may do some changes in the program in order to get the most of the excursion.



Arrival in Iquitos has to be before 9:00 am and departure after 5:00 pm. Other schedules has to arrange extra boat with additional cost.



  • Insect repellent

  • Good walking shoes that cover the heals. (to avoid twisting your ankle)

  • Large sun hat.

  • Sunglasses.

  • Sun cream.

  • Camera with plenty of film and batteries.

  • Flashlight / torch to use at nighttime. (plus spare batteries)

  • Lightweight raincoat with rainproof hat.

  • Umbrella in case of rain.

  • A good book to read, plenty of magazines. (to ready while you relax)

  • Pair of binoculars.

  • Water flask. (fresh drinking water for jungle treks)

  • Swimming costume. (for swimming in our large pool or in the river)

  • The native Indian tribes in the area are very poor and love to receive gifts of used clothing, old toys or anything at all that the tourist does not need and wishes to donate. Also, any items for children such as paper, pencils and pens are very gratefully received.

  • (For couples) Bring protection. (there are no drugstore nearby!!)

The program does not include

  • Beverages: juices, sodas, soft drinks and any alcoholic drinks. (Tea and coffee are complimentary)
